The Brief Updates – 2021

Greetings people, Hope everyone has been progressing well during these recent times?

It’s been a while now since I published on these platforms, But now I figure it’s the right time to start keeping you all informed here on the latest news.

First I thank everyone who’s been there backing me up & supporting all the projects I have relentlessly continued to build on in the past few months, The journey toward total independence is a testing one, But I see hardships all as part of the process toward success.

As you all know this pandemic had halted live shows, However things now are changing for the better & will be ready to announce some local shows soon, Me & the band are certainly looking forward to make a comeback, & continuing from where we left off.

There’s also a studio album that has been in the works of which I really am looking forward to release, dates will be announced soon on www.vonjlive.com,

Peace family,

I am firing things back up here again, I really look forward to sharing new content to all of you, & to those who have still continued to follow this page I really appreciate you & I sincerely mean this. 

What a year this has been for everyone

To those who have overcome this  year I really applaud you for advancing against all the adversities.

Everyone who knows me knows my passion for live performance, so one can imagine how disrupting these times have been with most live music events limited or totally cut off, especially with those like me who have been trying hard to bring the masses together for live music, However nothing lasts forever & I am very much looking forward to announce my next live events, would love if you bookmark http://www.vonjlive.com to stay updated with my group for events and new music releases.

For those that have been following the music, Unity is power The E.p. will be completed as a full album in the new year, & I guarantee it will be worth the wait.

I’m coming Back: from a dream to reality!

Peace Family.

I Hope y’all had a good weekend.
On this message we are continuing the short stories behind the music on the RuAch album, We Began these stories with the song River Nun, then “Out of the Mire”, This time lets talk abit about the featured track titled “I’m coming back”. I always say when one receives inspiration one has to be quick to act upon it to capture the idea before it disappears, Well this track has to be one of the best example’s of this.

Before adding this song I thought the album was complete, We recorded 24 tracks for the album of which I whittled down to 12 to make the album, & I had already planned to send the album master off on a Monday morning to be published, Little did I know a new song would rise only the previous day to this, I remember waking up from a dream at 5am on a Sunday morning, the day before I needed to send all the material off.

I had a dream that I was a soldier somewhere in the middle of a war zone close to a beach, But I was appointed in charge of rescuing the injured & bringing them to safety, So I would go to the sea shores & carry those injured individuals back to our camp where the soldiers can be looked after & nursed, As I was rescuing the injured all I was thinking of was a woman I loved & longed to be with again back at home, chances of survival were very slim but in the dream I had faith that I would see her again.

The determination was there not to be killed by crossfire while I am exposed carrying the injured to safety, But when I knew everyone I rescued was safe the dream took a sudden turn, & I found myself in a new place that seamed like a 1960s New Orleans, & I had a feeling of joy & happiness in that I survived a war & finally I could go & see my love again, On my way home to where I apparently lived in the dream I stumbled into a building, When I entered it this turned out to be an empty ballroom, But I could hear music playing, & it sounded like what one might define as “Free Jazz Music”.

I then awoke from my dream, The music in the dream kept playing while I was conscious, & I remembered there were certain different styles of music playing throughout the dream, Very rarely do I get to remember dreams as accurately as this one, but that dream was more like a Movie of which I dint only remember the picture but I remembered the soundtracks on each part of the dream.

Right then I knew this dream had to be included on the RuAch album.

That morning I contacted Carmine Manfredi our sax player & told him the dream, & asked him if he could help me with a very much-needed Sax piece on the “free jazz section” of the track.

That morning I went to our studio which we call “The Cave”, I played & recorded all the Drum parts, Bass, Guitars, & Vocals, Then Carmine came into the Cave from his job, it’s now 11pm, & he began to work on that section of the music until we were happy with it, I came back early the following Monday, mixed & mastered the track, Cut a new master disk & shipped the music off for publishing before midday that following Monday.

Today being a Monday I reminisced on that experience & thought I would share this message with you the family.

Sometimes we are slow to act & move with every ounce of inspiration we receive, I say move with your spirit to see your dreams accurately manifest into a physical existence.

So now I am wishing everyone who read this an inspirational & productive week.

Ruach News: Take heart! 29/07/16

Love & Unity people, I hope we have all had a positive & progressive week, This has been one of those inspiring yet heavy weeks for me personally, I recently learned that my great family friend, brother Julius Mutunga passed away this week. This came too sudden for the family, As this guy was a sent angel to us, This is one of those people of whom very few if not none could walk in his shoes. One strong individual!, Just like my father was, whom also has transcended. I remember me & Julius always talked about recording an album together, But the opportunity never came to pass. So I suppose we will Jam Again, But in another realm of existence, the higher entities. We love Julius, Rest in Power brother!, (on the picture Julius is on the electric guitar, & that’s Lil Vonj smiling on the bass)

My experiences in life have been extreme, especially for someone still in his 20s, we have witnessed & experienced the very WORST & the very BEST of the things in life, But this means nothing If one is not learning from experience, & through this  we come to understand our purpose in life, There are reasons why we are exposed to certain experiences. For me I realize that In actual fact I am in a privileged state, Because now I am able to share my experiences to others, providing comfort, motivation,  &  elevation to the people who are going through certain situations.

I try to use music as my MAIN vehicle to disseminate resolutions to people, I always have, & I will always will.

So with Spirit we remain working against the grain 24/7 Literally, because we also note down our dreams, “one of the greatest key parts in our life experience”.

Peace & Ruach People!

Y’all alright today?? y’all staying strong??, because remember…no matter what situation you are in?, good or bad?, there is only one thing that you can always aspire towards, RISING UP & Getting better within yourself & everything that you do!.

I’ve been in the midlands (England) doing session work for other folk, But nothing will compare to what is in store the day Ruach hits the stages!. I have always been about “LIVE” performance, & as much as we would like to build our reputation on “social media”, The real intention is to actually bring people OUT of the digital world & into the REAL world, No matter how sweet music may sound on a record/mp3, Nothing will ever compare to a live experience, This is why we should move towards appreciating musicians even more while they yet live, Because no matter how you may dig tunes like “So What”, No matter how you may dig “Purple rain”, That real & actual experience is gone with those artists forever!, & there are NO high end speakers, amplifiers, Full HD 3D, virtual reality, holographic systems that will ever come close to replicating the feeling received from an original live experience.

So “we want to bring you OUT!”, But first we are working towards setting the “right conditions”,  We look forward to inviting you to the party!

Ruach News: 15/07/16

Peace & love family, I hope we are all doing well, going strong & living in the right spirit.

It has been a massive week on our side, a few events have taken place since the release of Ruach on 07/07/16, We are making it a mission to get this album across as far & as wide as we can, as we can evidently see the positive impact this album has already created to the one’s who have heard the music beginning to end. & We will always be thankful for the people’s support.

The written story behind Ruach can be seen on http://www.vonjruach.com, I am currently on the road editing a full documentary on the album which will be put out on the 27th of July.

The message is very much one of empowerment, The moral of this whole concept is to show people that NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE if you put your mind & spirit into action!

Never Let the world Tell you “NO”, you are able to manipulate your strings of time!.

  as we talk,

walls they stand,

for the rays of the sun,

We wonder what was the cause of the wars,

angels fall but no broken bones,

Trees of greed who planted the seeds.

all that’s left are the prophesies

heads are rolling down a parted sea

land divide themselves

the rivers flow………….

Ships are built,

and they start to trade,
